IMPORTANT COVID-19 SAFETY INFORMATION
Riverwest Yogashala is currently enacting the following safety protocols for the health and well-being of all our students, teachers, guests and for our community at large:
As of March 2022, ALL persons attending in-person classes and/or events, regardless of vaccination status, are encouraged to wear a tight-fitting mask which covers both their mouth and nose while in the building, but they will not be required. Anyone who has been exposed to COVID-19 or is experiencing cold-like symptoms (including fever, cough, sniffles, aches, scratchy throat, etc.) should stay home. Please check with your teacher for any specific additional protocols for in-person classes. We are using a HEPA air filter as well as opening windows (weather permitting) in addition to reducing class sizes to help with distancing between people. Check back here for any updated policy changes. Thank you for your compassion and cooperation. Let's all be responsible, protect each other and help stop the spread of germs. Action is movement with intelligence. The world is filled with movement. What the world needs is more conscious movement, more action. -B.K.S. Iyengar
As the only nonprofit community-run yoga center in our region, we provide excellent instruction from certified and experienced yoga teachers. In addition to weekly classes for all levels, we provide community gift classes each month at the studio, affordable classes to reduce the barrier of money, as well as yoga programs and classes in the community.
Our practice is inspired by the work of the internationally renowned B.K.S. Iyengar of Pune, India. Through a lifetime of intense personal practice and teaching, Iyengar has developed a unique and accessible method of the ancient art of yoga for the modern practitioner that is sophisticated, scientifically founded, and rooted in history and tradition.
